Pump, Hydrostatic Test-2" 10 GPM (Rice Hydro)
Safety Information
QUICK REFERENCE OPERATING INSRUCTIONS
DIAPHRAGM PUMP SERIES- First, make sure the pump is in proper working condition, i.e. gas, and oil levels, parts intact, etc. *30 wt. Detergent Oil in engine - 90wt. gear oil in Gear Reduction-30wt. Non-detergent in pump
- UNIT MUST BE SUCTION OR GRAVITY FED. Connect inlet hose. Do not connect to a direct pressure feed, such as hosebib or standpipe. Damage will occur! Supply unit with suction from a 55 gallon drum or gravity feed from a water truck/tank.
- Connect 8 foot outlet hose to the outlet piping. Performing a simulated test: will allow you to preset your test pressure and ensure working performance of test unit. To simulate a test on your unit connect a ballvalve to the end of your outlet hose. The outlet hose will be your simulated test environment.
- Open the outlet ballvalve. If you are doing a simulated test or adjusting pressure regulator open ballvalve at the end of outlet hose, also.
- Start the engine.
- Open the hosebib located below pressure gauge, releasing air from the piping and unit. Close this valve when water flows freely.
- Allow pressure to build. For simulated testing or pressure regulator adjustment close ballvalve on the end of outlet hose. If unit does not build pressure or a drop in pressure occurs; check for leaks, bleed air from system, consult manufacturer's complete operating instructions for troubleshooting.
- Adjust the T-Handle Pressure regulator to set the required test pressure. Clockwise to INCREASE pressure or counterclockwise to DECREASE pressure. Bleed air in between each adjustment.
- Once pressure is met, and the air is bled from the system, close the ballvalve on the unit, and turn off the engine. Allow the test pump and the tested line to sit, holding pressure for your required test time.
NOTE: THE UNIT MUST BE SUCTION OR GRAVITY FED. SUCTION FEED FROM A BARREL/DRUM OR GRAVITY FEED FROM A WATER TRUCK/TANK. HOOKING THIS UNIT UP TO A DIRECT WATER LINE IS CONSIDERED PRESSURE FEEDING AND WILL CAUSE DAMAGE.**NOT FOLLOWING MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS MAY INVALIDATE ANY WARRANTY COVERAGE.
