Notes
  • Multiply the mixw design by three (3) for a three-sack-mixes.
  • Three inch slump is good for hand-applied plaster.
  • 2-1/2" inch slump is good for pump applied plaster.
  • Do not apply ash to the mix.
  • Do not add any additional water reducers or air entraining admixtures to the mix. For exceptionally high wind and high heat climactic conditions, one additional ounce of Kel-Crete is OK.
  • For the brown coat, add an additional 100 pounds of sand.

Application: Three-Coat Plaster

  1. Scratch Coat: Apply the scratch coat to a uniform 1/2" thickness. Scratch the surface with plaster scratch tools horizontally.
  2. Brown Coat: Apply 1/2" of plaster as soon as the scratch has reached a hardness so as to receive the brown coat without damage. If the scratch coat has set more than 24 hours, moisten the scratch coat before the brown coat application.
  3. Curing: Mix Kel-Prime 50/50 with clean tap water after the brown coat has reached surface drying.
